I want to have a high-end looking cover that gives the impression of sophistication, clarity and professionalism. The title and subtitle of the book is:
"The Brooks Way"
"compounding wealth and protecting capital in equity markets"
The title "The Brooks Way" should of course stand out. The subtitle can be more subtle. Meanwhile, my name "James Brooks" should also be clear to those who pick up the book.
At this stage, I am happy for the designer to put their own stamp on colors, font etc. I will include a high resolution photograph of me that you may wish to use as the main image on the front cover or indeed on the back.
To describe the book itself in greater detail, which might prove useful, I will break it into 3 questions:
1) What is the purpose?
To enable investors to compound wealth and protect their capital in any equity market
2) How to achieve this?
By building a dynamic framework and developing a robust strategy that removes the emotional biases that are detrimental to investment success
3) Why do investors need this?
The conventional wisdom and teaching surrounding stock market investing is flawed and as such is leading investors to make the wrong decisions. The primary mistakes investors make are:
1. They entrust the management of their stock portfolios to those who claim to be better at predicting the future. However, the evidence proves that making such predictions is the same as a coin toss, 50/50.
2. They rely on the buy and hold framework to avoid market timing and maintain low expenses. However, whilst buy and hold performs well when the market is advancing, it is a terrible strategy and destroys investor portfolios during declining markets, such as those seen since 2000.
The book then uses what I call the 4D Approach to reach the stage where they can build their framework and develop their investment strategy. The framework is a dynamic matrix approach whilst the strategy is a combination of going long and short specific stocks.
If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to ask.
