Leading Cause of TBI
Data shows that falls are the most common cause of traumatic brain injury for children from the ages 0-4 years old and in adults 75 years old and older. The data also reveals that the frequency for these two age categories and traumatic brain injuries is increasing.
Car accidents and other vehicle crashes and traffic incidents among all ages results in the largest percentage of traumatic brain injury deaths at 31.8%.
