Logo ideas, themes:
Industrial solidity reflecting reliability and integrity, Coppery colour suggests metals, but nothing to exclude non-metallic recyclables.
Modernity (as in early 20th century industrial aesthetic? art deco? NOT current fashion, post-industrial feel).
Spinning planet, cyclical flow or circularity or triskelions, etc. suggesting recycling,
Green/environmental credibility (global/planet concept and green background colour).
Contradictions to reconcile:
Past - and future.
Industrial - yet environmentally sound.
Heavy industrial - yet modern.
Cool, informal, whimsical - but reliable and serious about service and standards.
Design must present well as single colour, bold outline cut from vinyl for use on trucks and signage. Logo will sometimes appear as white against black or light green backgrounds (bins), as well as copper on Brunswick green for stationery, cards, signage and trucks. Should look good big or small.
Attached logos/designs have some desired aspects, none perfect.
Immediate preference/first thought is for a variation on the Daily Planet feel from Superman comics. Tilted, stylised globe (no continents). Okay to de-emphasise parts of the name to improve aesthetics or balance, i.e. the words "Recycling" or "Solutions" or both - but not Global.
Or something else entirely if it works.
Design should not have specific geographical references. i.e. no globes with particular countries prominent. No art deco fonts.
Plenty of feedback will be given through process.
