This business is an engineering consultancy, specialising in fast turnaround of relatively small projects across all disciplines. There is no typical client, they range from sole-operator manufacturing workshops through to senior executives of relatively large corporates. The main areas of work for the company are:
1. plant, equipment and machinery design and certification
2. safety engineering
3. Industrial structural engineering
I would like some engineering motifs incorporated into the logo design, otherwise it looks too bland and generic based on the concepts submitted so far. If you do a Google search for "engineering icon" or "architecture icon" you'll find lots of indications of the sort of thing I'm after. Maybe a set of dividers, a compass or a pair of vernier calipers? Doesn't have to be super detailed, just needs to be a simplified outline or silhouette. It's important that the engineering motif look like a fairly integal part of the logo, not like it's been tacked on as an afterthought.
It would be good to see some concepts along those lines - feel free to improvise or incorporate other ideas, I'm interested in seeing what people come up with.
That said - not hard hats, or anything like that. This is a professional services white-collar firm. Think architect, not builder.
