We are open to color suggestions but we are leaning fairly strongly towards Yellow / Black. Either Yellow/Black as a strong combo, or Black or Grey as a primary with a Yellow accent. This is because we are getting our start with extra-heavy freight such as moving around "Yellow Iron" which are large pieces of equipments such as Caterpillar earthmovers which are all construction Yellow. Also, trucks drive on highways which are black with yellow stripes. Also stars are yellow. ;)
HOWEVER, you will see in the PDF that we really all gravitated to the woody, earthy, leather / dark oak / whiskey / red plaid lumberjack shirt / smokey club kind of palate and also really liked that rich green aqua color of the strings. We are open to a suggestion that takes another richer color as the primary, perhaps still having a yellow / black accent that hint back at double-yellow lines and stars. Basically looking for your inspiration.

Great typography and like the style of vector graphic image. Like the symbology of the citrus + record in the image.

NOT INSPIRATION: These are typical players in the trucking space. We want to stand out from these, but understand that this is what our customers are used to
NOT INSPIRATION: These are our startup competitors in the space. Note that their logos are also quite boring (except Trucker Path which kinda sucks and Cargomatic actually doesn't make much sense. Do you really have a power button on cargo and does that really symbolize digital?) We don't want to look like these guys.
Not the greatest execution but clever idea to make the quote dripping fuel.

Even cleverer use of negative space.. Also nice alignment between words and weight of the image.
very modern (maybe too modern for us) but aspirational and symbolic.
Very clever double-entendre and the tent/book is nicely executed.
Ok this is waay to cutsie for our audience but I love the execution and the way it makes me smile.
Clean, clever concept. Although the image has so much weight that i really just ignore the name. Makes me think the company is "PencilChute" or "ParaCil" or something.

Beautiful execution of double-image.
Love the very subtle suggestion of windows on an office building incorporated into the name (they find office space sublets).
Yeah it's another two-word combo like freightstar. Nice simple execution on being literal. And good straightforward, masculine approach while still having a little flair.
Our primary domain is fr8star.com but we also have freightstar.com so customers hearing the name can still find the company.
Our target customer personas are:
1) small truck carrier owner. These guys (95% men) used to drive a truck and now own a few and employ drivers. They are not super tech savvy but they care about finding tools to help them make more money
2) shipping logistics managers- this persona is concerned with finding reliable TRUSTWORTHY carriers. They tend to be men that have been in logistics for many years
We want to stand out in an industry filed with very boring non distinctive brands. At the same time we can't go too hip/modern or we will turn off the gruff truckers that we are dealing with.
Primary brand attributes:
- On your team
- No BS
One brand concept that we will reinforce in other ways is that our user is the 'star'. They know best how to dispatch or drive their trucks. We aren't the star- they are.
