The tagline should not determine the design of the logo, but might be incorporated later in a letterhead or business card. Showing a version with the tagline is optional and not required to be selected as a finalist.
The "heart" as the center of our being, and the "household" as our sphere of influence are primary pictures that distinguish our work. We want to stay away from typical religious imagery (like a cross). Please also avoid cliche looking hearts if you wish to incorporate that in some way. You can consider a more distressed and rugged heart, like the "sacred heart" pictured in the attachments, but remove the cross. Love, Life and Resurrection are also key themes we address.
The idea of a sunrise as our color palette or an image is one that may latently carry the idea of a new day, resurrection Sunday, God's mercy and grace being new every morning.
All of our leaders are bivocational (meaning they work during the day and volunteer as pastors of their churches). So "mixed-use" architecture with the storefront on bottom and a house/apartment on top, is an interesting concept. That's why old signs of barber shops and tattoo parlors typically in buildings like that are particularly inspiring to the look of our logo. Maybe the concept can be incorporated in some way, but it may be too busy with our main themes needing to be more in focus.
