FINAL ROUND UPDATE***
Hello Finalists. We would like to see new original ideas as well as expansions to existing ideas from the previous round. None of us are truly inspired by any of them yet and we are still hoping to be.
We're leaning towards using lower case text but it needs to be much cooler looking than just boring font. We don't really care for the versions that separate the "entro" from the "pix" by design or by color. If you do it, it needs to be very subtle. The full word "entropix" should be the focus.
On an additional note, the new example you see uploaded is NOT a direction change but it IS something we'd like to see everyone create a variation of in their own completely original way.
Finally, please feel free to try completely original ideas based upon any commonalities you see between all the finalists entries. We are still waiting to be truly inspired so original is good.
***END FINAL ROUND UPDATE
Entropix is a cutting edge technology research and development company working with the next generation of video technology. We develop highly specialized cameras that generate highly specialized data which requires super-computing algorithms (designed by us) to decode and resolve video that can reach as high as 50-100 megapixels in resolution. For scale, current 1080p cameras are 2.1 megapixel. Even the newest 4K cameras are only barely over 8 megapixels. Yet our cameras and image processing technology can reach up to ten times that resolution.
The name ENTROPIX comes from the word "Entropy" as it applies to information theory. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Entrop…on_theory). In video, "Entropy" (while being a measure of chaos) actually contains vast amounts of data. We harness and super compute that data to create video of extreme resolution. We would like our logo to be some type of highly original word art of our company name that does a good job of capturing what we do in the design. Ideally the logo will be a very evolved version of our company name "ENTROPIX"
Although the first part of our name comes from "Entropy", the second part of our name "PIX" obviously comes from "Pixels" and is shorthand for "Pictures". We would also like to see versions that create a clear but complementary pairing of those two elements together.
Our technology is among the most advanced of its kind in the world. Anything to help convey that is welcome. To quote Arthur C. Clarke "Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic.” What we do with video by way of next generation supercomputing and advanced algorithmic mathematics is truly a new form of digital video magic.
Here is a simple example picture showing how our technology can work in the surveillance industry for an example for faces or license plates: http://cmp.felk.cvut.cz/~cechj/stud…lution.jpg and http://www.autostakkert.com/wp/wp-c…in-as2.jpg
