This logo is to brand an international call-to-action on invasive species, the audience is all governments and non-governmental organizations that work on invasive species worldwide. The call-to-action challenges governments and non-governmental organizations to commit to bold and substantial actions to protect economies, public health, and the environment from invasive alien species. The Honolulu Challenge is issued by the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN).

This is a direct challenge to stimulate bold and necessary action on invasive alien species (aquatic and terrestrial) worldwide. Invasive alien species are plants and animals that are not native to an area (that is, they did not arrive by on their own or by natural means, but have been brought accidentally or purposefully by people or our planes, ships, etc., and are causing harm to the economy, public health, native species, watershed function, or other environmental processes). Invasive species can be considered "nature out of place". These species aren't "bad", they are simply moved to places where they do not have natural population controls present. More precautions and greater effort at addressing these species or mitigating the impacts is needed. The Honolulu Challenge asks governments and others to pledge and carry out significant new actions to prevent or address invasive species in their jurisdictions. A website and ongoing communications will use the logo as part of its branding.
