First of all, thanks to all of the artists who will use their talents on this project to help me build a legacy and provide value to the marketplace. Also, I don't wish to be mean in my critiques, but I think it's better to be brutally yet respectfully honest as artists. I try to be as detailed as possible with why I like or dislike something.
I really want a logo that can capture the feel of my website and my approach to photography and life. I'm drawn to understated, yet powerful designs, clean lines, and impeccable interior spaces. Timeless style always trumps gaudiness in my opinion. I want to convey uncompromising professionalism mixed with the constant flow and evolution of ideas. This may seem counter-intuitive, but I don't want a logo with camera references. It's the typical route, and I want start with something fresh. The tagline on my site is "No Pretension." I chose that because no matter how good I become at photography, business, and life, I will never sit back and refuse to learn and experiment as though I've arrived at some pinnacle of mastery.
Since I'm based in Germany, MakeMoves Photography isn't a business name that immediately translates to a native speaker; it's catching on a bit as I write more blog posts. My goal is to build a brand powerful enough to become understood and accepted by multiple cultures. I originally chose the name because it embodies my philosophy of hustling to make things happen for yourself and create positive change in the world. It just happens to also match well with my recent decision to make real estate photography my core business.
