Target market will be interested in getting value for money from building works and ensuring that any building works are done right.
This logo is for a website / organisation that provides information on designing & building houses to people who are not professionals.
Notes on the design of the website (of which the logo will be a part of) - I want this site to be like a world - it will be friendly, professional, welcoming and it gains immediate trust. It is well set-out, simple to navigate and the information you seek is intuitive to find. The site will be like your professional friend - eager to help and make the business of building simple.
I want people to get the following as soon as they see the logo:

That it's related to houses, design and construction
TheUBG is a friend in the industry.
That there's information / knowledge to be provided
That the site is modern, clearly set out and intuitive
For people to feel comfortable and immediately trusting of the site
I like the way the apple logo is simple and grey, however demands attention and respect. I am also not adverse to a splash of colour to make it more friendly.
Comments on the attached images:
1. Blue folder.png - this provides a liking of mine, however is not customised for houses - could consider making the transparent pages house pages. Could also consider using multi-coloured house pages??? The attached design could be used as inspiration, however, I am looking for fresh ideas too.
logo thoughts.jpg - These are just my playings with the blue folder which you could use as a starting point or disregard.
The other attachments are logos which have caught my eye as to the sort of calibre of graphics I am expecting.
