Youth Council Cyber Safety Wallpaper Project
Context background information:
Each year the Youth Council works on up to three major projects. The projects are based around topics the youth members view as important and relevant to themselves and other young people within the Salisbury community.
A current issue of concern for young people is that of cyber bullying. Given the broad scope of issues that cyber safety covers, project team members developed a survey to engage in consultation with young people in regard to cyber safety and cyber bullying which informed the development of this project.
Purpose/objective of promotion:
The development of a computer wallpaper that includes important cyber safety facts for young people to remember while using a computer.
It is anticipated that the wallpaper will be placed on USB or disc and given to secondary schools, libraries, recreation centres, community centres, youth agencies and individuals to remind them of the dangers and consequences of being involved in the cyber world.
Main message: ‘Are you Cyber Safe?’
Refer to attached document for quotes for inclusion on the wallpaper.
Tone and manner:
Main image - retro style computer with the words ‘Are you Cyber Safe?’
Quotes are in two groups (that pair up) – main quotes and secondary quotes or ‘cautions’. The team would like the main quotes to go in an iPhone text box. The caution quotes can go in either a computer warning box or a ‘kapow’ comic type speech bubble.
