Qual a sua visão?
I'd like an infographic about the Occupy Wall Street / Occupy Together movement to be created. If you're interested in the movement and following it closely, this project should be ideal for you. Rough outline is attached, though it's not set in stone; basic 'sections' I'm envisioning are: 1) How it all began and WHY people are protesting (e.g. two main reasons: economic inequality and corporate influence over government) 2) Who is protesting? -- demographic information about the supporters (NOTE: this should be phrased as 'supporters' and not 'protesters', as the data I've provided doesn't necessarily come from just the protesters) 3) Where the protests are -- geo data about some of the main cities where there have been protests (NY, SF, CHI, ATL, Boston, Austin, LA, etc), how many protesters, how many arrests, any notable incidents, etc; this can e.g. be some sort of heat map that shows the concentration of protests in the US, with stats and data points for the main cities (just a suggestion) 3.5) Effect of Occupy movement on the society in the rest of the world (int'l cities, etc) 4) The role of social media in this movement (it's played a huge role, esp Youtube; supporters have connected with each other primarily over Twitter, FB, Youtube, blogs, etc) 5) General stats about the wealth disparity in America (I want this section to be shocking; we have a couple stats that I think would be cool to compare to other more general stats--e.g. There are 50 million Americans who do not have healthcare....that's more than the population of the entire state of CA! .. or something like that) I'd also like a strong call to action at the end. I don't want this infographic to be too controversial or learn one way over another. Obviously, it's going to favor the 99% side, but I'd rather it not be so one-sided. I'd like to be as neutral as possible, and just a really solid information resource for anyone interested in the movement. I have also attached another research document for you to flip through. There's ample data, and you do not have to use it all. Ultimately, I want a simple, compelling, interesting, thought-provoking infographic that is still easy to understand and flows well. The data shouldn't be so convoluted so that people have trouble understanding it. And again, it does NOT have to use all the data provided (as they have been provided in excess); just use what is needed and what is sufficient to tell a compelling story through the graphic. This project is ideal for you if you are already interested in this and following it closely, and are very immersed and up to date with the American government system and culture, as you may need to find extra pieces of data as you need it, or if you think of another section/piece of information that you think would be great for this graphic. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask. I look forward to seeing what you all have in store! EDIT: I've added a new document to add to your resources; it is a page from today's New York Times that has some stats that might come in handy. As a note, please place sources at the end of the infographic. Thanks!
Targeting anyone interested in the Occupy movement; we want this to be COMPELLING, and INTERESTING and get people sharing it!
