Our homepage should not have a corporate feel. It really does not need to recapitulate the entire site. We want no sharp edges, just rounded corners and inviting colors. Our logo is a circle made of all the cancer ribbons because we represent all cancers. Our basic color is lavender because it is the ribbon color for all cancers. Our founder is Dr. Melanie Bone, a renowned cancer survivor, gynecologic surgeon, mother, author, and speaker. We want to feature a box in the center if the page called Ask Dr. Bone. It is a Dear Abby type space where we invite people to ask questions that they do not feel comfortable asking their own doctors or feel are too trivial or "stupid." We also want to feature a rotating "Column of the Day." Dr. Bone is a columnist for the Palm Beach Post and she writes a weekly column called Surviving Life. Each day we want to have a column up for the readers to return to. We have over 100 columns already and just need to get them up. A similar feature will be the "Question of the Day" which will feature a daily rotating Q and A from the archives. We have hundreds of questions from which to pick.
We need a place for videos. We also want to have a "Kids Corner" and a "Caregiver Corner" which will feature tips in the same way ad the others. We also have Expert Bloggers. It would be nice to put their picture with a one-line bio and then readers can click to read their blog. We do need to have some tabs for links, resources such as a calendar of all the cancer months and ribbon colors, as well as a link to CancerShopUSA.com our for-profit partner that is an online gift store for cancer products.

We had a beautiful site that was designed in South Africa but was destroyed by an "intern" here. The second site just felt cold and business like. We think out of the box and want it simple, comfy, not too slick, but a place people want to go to regularly.
