He was very precise with what he wanted and provided pictures, a lot of stylistic suggestions, and requested that the cover be yellow. Here I took an old newspaper clipping picture and blew it out to make the face you see here. I recreated a desert scene and added texture. The typeface is simple and bold.")

This option came about after many iterations and has a handmade feel, which echo's the business of a place where people can buy eclectic modern items, but also take classes and create things. The art brush could also be interpreted as a flower bud. Clean and simple was the goal.")

I thought about summer and started this logo with the sun, which to me, represents summer. They then requested I add some scenes on the inside, so I added mountains and water. The final design, which was tweaked after the contest closed, has the mountains looking a little more balanced and only one wave of water on the bottom.")
