The existing signs stood for 55 years and in order to pay tribute to them, I based my 'updated' designs on the originals with various changes to color and wording as per client's request. The martini glass in the middle is as close of a replica to the original as I could possibly make happen given the older sign's images. The blue background paid tribute to the original sign's blue block background; the green addition is intended to not only draw inspiration from being on the 'green' whilst golfing, but also as an organic way of blending the sign into its natural surroundings.")

The signs use many matte, flat modern design pieces while still relying on the filigree seen in retro designs from the 1930s-50s (a la Great Gatsby). The design and apartment name itself was rebranded following the contest, but these were the initial designs according to the contest brief.")

They communicate and discuss products, plans, etc. with individuals. So a minimalist chat bubble was used, accompanied by a clean sans serif font and a slightly smaller tagline.")

Request was for a characterized domino with arms, legs, the whole shebang, so rather than creating a humanoid domino, a more subtle approach was used with the inclusion of simple arms and a head with facial features hidden beneath the sombrero, with the bottom half of the domino serving as cartoon legs similar to playing cards in \"Alice in Wonderland\". Actual legs would have felt too humanoid whereas I felt this design required more understated features.")
