I chose a dynamic pose that was popular during the rise of a new generation of animated videos at the time. This is a quick sketch version, which I plan to follow up with a colored rendition. That version will keep some bold outlines while featuring soft shaded details. The advantage of this style is its versatility—it can easily be adapted into a single-color outline version.
I went with a Walkman because I felt it made a stronger detail than a boombox, which might compete in size with the cup itself. The orange slice cleverly doubles as a lock of hair. The sunglasses and sneakers are essential '90s brand mascots- unavoidable elements of what art directors then considered “cool.”")
