The main character is a young woman (early 20s), so my idea for the cover was of a woman in Depression-era dress wearing a gas mask.
I recognize that writers are not the best at coming up with ideas for book covers so I'm totally open to other ideas, but I thought something that shows both the chemical weapons aspect and the time/place/protagonist would be important to attract readers.
If possible, I would like the layers used to create the cover so I can use them for additional marketing materials.")

Of course I will leave interpretation to the artist. The mood is somber and awake a quiet since of fear and feeling unsure at whether you are safe. Also possibly a dandelion in there somewhere with the seeds floating away in the wind.")

:format(webp)/99designs-contests-attachments/88/88336/attachment_88336665 "I would like to commission a cover for an e-book edition of my historical novel „Fortune’s Wheel“. The book was originally published in German, and the cover I am looking for now is for the English translation edition.
The e-book cover I am commissioning can be similar but doesn’t need to be. The typeface used is lelf_noir_du_mal and I would prefer it be used for the new cover as well. If you decide to employ a medieval-style drawing it should depict or include the “Wheel of Fortune” which was omnipresent in medieval art. However, I would prefer not to pay for image rights.
Recent covers of English language historical novels I find interesting and modern are for example “A Column of Fire” by Ken Follett or “Stormbird” by Conn Iggulden , but I am open to fresh ideas deviating from these or from my own traditional book designs. I do not, however, like photos of people in my covers.")
